I am an artist working and living in Stuart Florida for the last 30 years plus. In my work I try to show the untamed spirit of my home state. The challenge of plein air keeps me going out in all seasons. I have been amazed and humbled by the diversity and resilience of nature. Oil painting is my first love but I also pick up other mediums occasionally.
The search for my perfect painting has lead me to a style tipping towards abstraction and much thicker paint. My goal is to say more with less. Much like golf, the fewer strokes the better. I want to lead my viewer into the tangled, messy, and undisciplined landscape I call home.
Please come visit me at the Elliot Museum the 2nd Sunday of every month November through April.
