Megan/Meg Roberts, locally known as Native Nut Meg, is a home‑based artist in Stuart, Florida whose work is primarily influenced by the colors of the coast, the rhythm of the tide, and the region’s unique flora and fauna. Through her art, she hopes to instill joy into everyday life, turning simple moments into reminders of our connection to the natural world.
Meg specializes in hand‑painted and sand‑carved glassware that is both functional and decorative, meant to be used and admired. The painted glasses are vibrant, whimsical, and playful, created through a meticulous, multilayered reverse‑painting technique, while the sand‑carved pieces offer a softer, more subtle elegance.
Her creativity extends into digital illustration, where she combines hand‑drawn sketches and vector graphics to produce designs for her CO₂ laser. With the laser, she engraves and embellishes wood, cork, stainless steel, aluminum, acrylic, and paper, bringing her coastal imagery to a wide range of materials.
Meg continuously explores new creative outlets and was recently inspired to salvage discarded flooring, turning the pieces into upcycled works of art. The natural grain and texture of the planks pair with her charming seaside themes to create artwork that feels warm, rustic, and casually crafted.
In addition to her own work, she hosts glass‑painting parties where participants create their own functional art. These events offer a fun, creative way to spend time with friends and family and can serve as engaging team‑building experiences for businesses.
