I’m an impressionist oil painter. I love the natural beauty of the unspoiled landscape where light and shadows define space. It is a gift to be present on the location to paint in Plein Air or in studio. Sunsets, moonrises, cloudscapes and nocturnes are favorite subjects where tonality dominates what I try to accomplish. I also paint scenes about the life of day working cowboys. Capturing their daily work on ranches is a privilege. Their work on horseback and around the cattle sorting pens is familiar to me as I owned a ranch in Okeechobee, Florida. My artistic challenge is to capture and represent the subject without overemphasizing unnecessary detail. That is it the job of an impressionist painter where the fine balance of image and color meet. I'm located in South Florida where I tend to paint most of the time. I also paint while travelling in the western United States and in Europe. I am trained as a landscape architect.
